Connecticut's Wilton Surgery Center Physicians Promote National Glaucoma Awareness Month

The physicians of Wilton Surgery Center in Westport, Conn., are promoting National Glaucoma Awareness Month by reaching out to patients about early detection, diagnosis and treatment, according to an Open Press report.

Leslie Doctor, MD, said patients should be particularly sensitive to the fact that glaucoma is a leading cause of blindness in African-American and Hispanic populations. Additional glaucoma risk factors include family history of glaucoma, certain diseases such as diabetes and age.

Doctor & Associates, the practice associated with Wilton Surgery Center, is a Connecticut eye care practice that provides cataract surgery, intraocular lens implants, laser vision correction and other services.
