On March 9, the Ambulatory Surgery Center Political Action Committee hosted fundraising events for Congressmen Bill Cassidy (R-La.) and Tom Price (R-Ga.), according to an ASC Association release.
ASCPAC gathered members of the ASC community to thank the representatives for their support of the industry. Before being elected to Congress, Congressman Cassidy, a strong advocate of ASCs, practiced gastroenterology in Louisiana.
Congressman Price practiced orthopedic surgery in Georgia and has worked to support ASCs through co-sponsoring industry legislation.
ASCPAC Chairman Michael Guarino said, "Representatives Cassidy and Price are exceptional public servants who understand the important role ASCs play in saving the Medicare system money while providing top-quality patient care."
