CMS official announces forthcoming ICD-10 delay plan from HHS.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is forming a plan to accommodate the ICD-10 delay and HHS will make an announcement of the plan soon, a CMS official told American Health Management Association ICD-10 Summit attendees. CMS Administrator Marilyn Tavenner is expected to present the plan.
Kingston Surgery Center physicians honored.
Harvey Reiser, MD, and Erik Kruger, MD, of Kingston Surgery Center, were honored for their work in the Gift of Sight Program. The physicians, partners of AmSurg, provide eye exams for uninsured and underinsured individuals.
TMC Lakewood Surgical Center adds new physicians.
TMC Lakewood Surgical Center welcomed Adam Kramer, DO, and Christie Brock, DO, MBA, from Advanced Surgical Associates. The physicians, both board-certified general surgeons, will have admission and discharge privileges.
Physicians perform 1st single-site robotic hysterectomy at Beverly Hills Surgery Center.
David Ghozland, MD, and Marc Winter, MD, performed the first single-sit robotic hysterectomy at Beverly Hills Regional Surgery Center in Los Angeles. The facility is a miVIP surgery center, which includes 60 surgeons.
Barrington Pain & Spine earns approval for spine surgery.
The Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review board granted Barrington (Ill.) Pain and Spine Institute a certificate of need to bring spine services to its surgery center. The surgery center already provides interventional pain management services.
Physicians Endoscopy names CDO.
Physicians Endoscopy named Rodger Baca as chief development officer. Mr. Baca previously served as a vice president of acquisitions and development at Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America.
Stony Point Surgery Center at Medarva names marketing company as agency of record.
Stony Point Surgery Center at Medarva, based in Richmond, Va., named 93 Octane its agency of record. 93 Octane is a full-service marketing company.
