An ASC is on track to open in Jamestown, Wis., later this year, according to an Aug. 10 report from the Telegraph Herald.
The Upper Mississippi Surgery Center began construction last year and is expected to be complete in October 2024. The project is just one month behind its original schedule, despite construction setbacks, according to the report.
The center's first surgeries will be conducted in mid- to late-October, with the facility expected to be fully operational about six months after that.
The center will primarily focus on hernia repairs, carpal tunnel releases and other same-day operations.
The project is led by 10 area surgeons from Dubuque (Iowa) Podiatry, Dubuque Surgery, Dubuque Orthopaedic Surgeons and Dubuque ENT Head & Neck Surgery.
