The Hasting Planning Commission approved Hastings, Mich.-based Spectrum Health Pennock Hospital's $12 million surgical center proposal, The Hastings Banner reports.
What you should know:
1. The hospital plans to break ground on the project in the summer of 2019, with a planned November 2020 opening date.
2. Spectrum Health is relocating its inpatient and outpatient departments to the center.
3. The center will feature three operating rooms, 15 patient rooms, five recovery bays and two endoscopy suites.
4. Spectrum Health plans to open the center to private physician groups.
5. The project is being funded primarily through private donors.
