Quincy (Ill.) Medical Group is seeking the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board's permission to appear at an upcoming board meeting to appeal the board's denial, local news affiliate KHQA reports.
What you should know:
1. The board denied QMG's request to develop a new surgery center earlier in the month but gave the physician group time to answer outstanding questions about its proposal.
2. QMG wants permission to go before the board and address its concerns.
3. If allowed, QMG could be put on the April 30 agenda.
4. QMG CEO Carol Brockmiller issued a statement to KHQA, "Quincy Medical Group is committed to doing what is best for our community. We look forward to addressing the HFSRB’s questions and issues to seek approval for the proposed surgery center. We are grateful for the continued support from our patients, employers and community and remain optimistic that with additional information, the HFSRB will approve the project."
5. Quincy-based Blessing Health System heavily opposed QMG's request to build a new surgery center. Blessing operates a surgery center.
