The Providence Breeze Advanced Care Center, which will feature an ASC, recently opened in Torrance, Calif.
Here are three details:
1. Renton, Wash.-based Providence Health Services owns the three-story, 106,000-square-foot medical facility, which will house an ASC as well as clinics, an imaging center and more.
2. City of Hope Cancer Center is a current tenant. Additional tenants focused on advancing patient-centric care will move into the facility in 2019.
3. To create a 'homey' environment, the facility features a "concierge desk" rather than a traditional registration desk, waiting areas broken up into separate clusters and a women's center designed to resemble a spa.
"Approximately 10 percent of a patient's time is actual medical care. The rest includes arrival, drop-off, check-in, waiting and other activities. We aim to influence that 90 percent, carefully programming it to make it as comfortable as possible," said Amine Khemakhem, senior project manager at Cuningham Group, the building's executive architect and tenant improvement designer.
