Wilmington (N.C.) Eye plans to open the first and only ophthalmology ASC in eastern North Carolina, near its main practice.

1. Wilmington Eye will soon break ground on the 15,500-square-foot surgery center.
2. Administrators expect to open the center in 2021.
3. Practice administrators said the center will increase access to care in the community and lower costs.
