St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee, Minn., dedicated $44 million to build a new surgery center and expand its emergency room and cancer center, the Minneapolis StarTribune reports.
What you should know:
1. The hospital expects to open both projects in late 2021.
2. The hospital is building an $18.9 million surgery center in response to more health insurers only paying for outpatient procedures done in surgery centers.
3. The surgery center will accommodate endoscopy procedures, among others.
