The Kentucky Court of Appeals denied a certificate of need application from Fort Mitchell, Ky.-based Christ Hospital for an ASC, according to The River City News.
The application is opposed by St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Covington, Ky., which claims the area isn't in need of another ASC. Christ Hospital had its application denied by a Franklin County circuit judge. The hospital is partnering with Brandicorp to for a project including medical offices, an emergency room and residences. The ASC was part of that plan.
Fort Mitchell Mayor Jude Hehman told The River City News that while the denial was a setback, the hospital and the city need to continue to push for the ASC.
