HCA Florida to convert new property into medical office building, freestanding ER

HCA Florida Healthcare acquired two two-story buildings in Jacksonville, Fla., in June for $6.06 million, with plans to convert the space into a freestanding emergency center and a medical office building, according to a July 12 report from the Jacksonville Daily Record.

Each building totals 26,047 square feet, but HCA plans to demolish at least one of the buildings for the freestanding emergency room, according to the report.

HCA's affiliate Memorial Healthcare bought the properties from Acorn Baywood, which also has a six-story, 119,019-square-foot office building on the property.

Plans to rezone the properties will be heard by the city planning commission on July 20 and by the zoning committee on Aug. 1.
