Connecticut physician group acquired by VillageMD planning new medical center

Rocky Hill, Conn.-based Starling Physicians and Chimera Holdings is planning to build a new office suite medical center, Hartford Business Journal reported April 5.

The organization was recently acquired by VillageMD, owned by Walgreens Boots Alliance. It encompasses 30 locations in the greater Hartford, Conn., area. State regulators are investigating the deal to see if it complied with certificate of need laws.

The new facility will be 24,000 square feet and one story.

Starling is one of the state's largest physician groups.
