Chicago gives Sinai Health System $7M for surgery center

The city of Chicago is giving Chicago-based Sinai Health System $7 million to construct an ASC in North Lawndale, a city neighborhood, Crain's Chicago Business reports.

What you should know:

1. Sinai is building the surgery center using funding from the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act.

2. The health system expects to open the center in July 2021.

3. The center will include a digestive health and a dialysis component as well.

4. The center is part of a larger $200 million, 11-acre development in the neighborhood that will feature a mix of retail businesses.
