ASCs are facing increasing market pressure to expand and renovate, according to Relias Media.
Relias Media relayed ASC administrator Mark Mayo's advice for surgery centers embarking on facility renovations:
1. Plan ahead to avoid contaminating work areas and increasing the risk of patient infections.
2. Make sure areas under construction are disconnected from the normal ventilation system.
3. Inform staff about any changes to fire exit pathways.
4. Ensure that patient records, medications and supplies are secure.
