Physicians and surgeons topped a list from Forbes Advisor of the 20 highest-paying healthcare jobs.
The list, which is pulled from May 2022 median annual wage data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, included a breakdown of the physician specialties that were the highest paid.
Here are the six highest-paid physician specialties, followed by their respective median annual salary, per the list:
- Cardiologist: $421,330
- Orthopedic surgeons (excluding pediatric): $371,410
- Dermatologist: $327,650
- Emergency medicine physician: $316,600
- Oral and maxillofacial surgeon: $309,410
- Anesthesiologist: $302,970
