Mark Barnhart became CEO of Seattle-based Proliance Surgeons, a physician-owned and managed surgical practice, effective Feb. 1.
What you should know:
1. Proliance's 458-plus providers offer treatment at 38 care centers and 23 ASCs throughout Washington.
2. Prior to becoming Proliance's CEO, Mr. Barnhart served as Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health System's vice president for seven years. He oversaw the organization's value-based initiatives in 15 accountable care organizations and bundled payments across 120 hospitals.
3. Mr. Barnhart's previous experience also includes 10 years as COO of the physician organizations at Pittsburgh-based West Penn Allegheny Health System and Columbus-based The Ohio State University.
4. Charles Peterson II, MD, served as Proliance's interim CEO before Mr. Barnhart was selected after an intensive leadership search and interview process.
5. Proliance's board of directors conducted the search with the help of a search committee and executive recruitment firm Korn-Ferry.
