New York City-based Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York is celebrating its 25th year of providing dermatology and plastic surgery services in 2018.
Here are six things you need to know:
1. The center was founded in 1993 by a single physician. It has since grown to a staff of 140 people, including 12 board certified dermatologists and one plastic surgeon.
2. The center has locations in Manhattan and Southampton, N.Y., with a combined 40,000-square-feet and over 70 lasers and similar devices.
3. LSSCNY's physicians have published over 250 scientific papers, including books and book chapters. They lecture nationally and worldwide and train physicians in their fellowship programs.
4. LSSCNY offers procedures including non-ablative and ablative laser resurfacing, laser hair removal and permanent makeup removal.
5. The center has a research division.
6. The American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery awarded LSSCNY Director Roy Geronemus, MD, the Ellet Drake award for outstanding contributions to laser medicine and the Leon Goldman award for excellence in clinical laser research. Dr. Geronemus has been listed 22 times in New York Magazine's 'Best Doctors in New York' and was recognized as Allure's 'Influencer' in 2013.
