Stephanie Harvey serves on the Association of Wisconsin Surgery Centers' board of directors as president. In addition to Ms. Harvey, eight other industry processionals comprise the board.
She is also the CEO of Lake Hallie, Wis.-based Independent Surgery Center, an ophthalmology ASC. Three surgeons — Thomas Harvey, MD; Chris Buntrock, MD; and Terry McCanna, MD — own the surgery center.
In July 2017, Association of Wisconsin Surgery Centers wrote a letter thanking Senate Republicans for a budget proposal that would repeal the ASC assessment and proposes continued support for Medicaid patients through funding of access payments to ASCs.
In the letter, Ms. Harvey stated, "The Senate Republican budget does two very important things for Wisconsin's ASCs. First, it follows the Governors budget and repeals the ASC assessment, which for many centers has become a burdensome tax that stifles expansion and investment. Second, it provides a level of Medicaid access payments high enough so that centers who serve a high volume of MA patients will be able to continue doing so."
