University Medical Center New Orleans hired a new CEO whose plans for the system include expanding services at its new ASC, according to The New Orleans Advocate.
Three quick insights:
1. UMC named Danny Hardman as the replacement for Bill Masterton, who became a market CEO for LCMC Health in January. Mr. Hardman was previously chief operating officer at Christus Spohn Health System in Dallas.
2. Mr. Hardman plans to expand services at UMC's new ASC, in addition to expanding the hospital's staff and services, clinical training facilities, and respiratory therapy services.
3. Under Mr. Masterton's leadership, UMC's workforce increased by 400. Mr. Masterson is now in charge of running New Orleans-based LCMC Health's four adult hospitals. He had taken the reins at UMC in June 2016.
