USC Colorectal Surgeon Andreas Kaiser Named GI Journal Editor

Andreas Kaiser, MD, an associate professor of colorectal surgery at the University Southern California in Los Angeles, has been appointed editor-in-chief of Clinical and Experimental Gastroenterology, according to a Dove Medical press release.


Dr. Kaiser chaired USC's Department of Colorectal Surgery from 2008 to 2009 and in 2009 authored a book, "McGraw-Hill Manual of Colorectal Surgery."

 

Dr. Kaiser earned his MD from the University of Zurich, Switzerland, and completed his general surgery training at the University Hospital of Zurich. He then spent two years at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston researching pancreas pathophysiology and pancreatitis.

 

His clinical and research interests include colorectal and anal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticulitis, anorectal physiology and functional disorders such as constipation, pelvic floor dysfunction and incontinence.
