Carillon Surgery Center in St. Petersburg, Fla., has been granted full accreditation by the American College of Surgeons Bariatric Surgery Center Network Accreditation Program, according to a news release.
It is the first ambulatory surgery center in Florida and just the seventh outpatient center nationwide to be fully accredited with the ACS, according to the release.
The ACS BSCN "accredits facilities in the United States that have undergone an independent, voluntary and rigorous peer evaluation in accordance with nationally recognized bariatric surgical standards," according to the accreditation program.
"We are proud of this distinction and its recognition of the hard work of our team to provide this surgery to all of those in need of becoming healthy, active adults," said Tiffany Jessee, DO, bariatric surgeon and the medical director at Carillon, according to the release. "By providing this surgery on an outpatient basis, we can give our patients the opportunity for a faster recovery and to begin a healthier lifestyle."
Carillon Surgery Center performs procedures in bariatrics, as well as GI, general surgery, ENT, gynecology, pain, orthopedics and urology.
