A new study shows MRI helps predict survival among patients with advanced rectal cancer, according to Journal of Clinical Oncology report.
Researchers in England found that MRI-assessed tumor responses to neoadjuvant therapy can help in the planning of subsequent treatments.
The study found that 72 percent of good responders to chemotherapy or radiation were alive after five years, compared with 27 percent of poor responders.
