Olympus America has introduced a new surgical imaging platform, VISERA ELITE, and a new videolaparoscope, ENDOEYE FLEX 5, according to an Olympus news release.
The VISERA ELITE platform includes HDTV imaging capability and advanced image processing for use with Olympus surgical scopes across several specialties. The ENDOEYE FLEX 5 is a 5 mm HD deflectable videolaparoscope that uses digital-chip technology to place the camera on the tip of the scope. The device is designed to minimize potential collisions between instruments and ensure flexibility in changing observation direction.
