miVIP Surgery, which operates centers in California, Florida and Nevada, will begin performing surgery with the da Vinci Si Surgical System in its Beverly Hills, Calif.-based center, according to DOTmed News.
The new system will allow miVIP's surgeons to perform minimally invasive procedures with even smaller incisions than traditional laparoscopic techniques. The technology provides even greater dexterity and range of motion than the human hand.
The da Vinci Si system from Intuitive Surgical was released in 2009 and builds on the technology of its da Vinci predecessors. The improved equipment speeds up patient recovery times, decreases pain at the time of surgery and allows patients to recover without hospitalization.
Isaac Verbukh, CEO at miVIP Surgery, said the da Vinci Si system will enable the ASC to perform complex urologic procedures on a wider range of patients.
