Gastroenterologist John Barnard, MD, has been named the first recipient of the Ann I. Wolfe Endowed Chair in Research Leadership at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, according to a news release.
Dr. Barnard is president of The Research Institute at Nationwide Children's; professor of pediatrics in the division of gastroenterology and nutrition and vice chair for research in the department of pediatrics at The Ohio State University.; and a practicing gastroenterologist and a past-president of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.
The Ann I. Wolfe Endowed Chair was established in recognition of the ongoing contributions Ms. Wolfe makes to Nationwide Children's. She has led fundraising efforts which have raised more than $400 million for the hospital.
