Gastroenterologist Canan Avunduk, MD, has converted Bay State Gastroenterology in Melrose, Mass., into a medical spa, according to a Wicked Local report.
Dr. Avunduk practiced gastroenterology for 30 years before retiring, closing her practice this summer and turning her practice into a medical spa.
The medical spa, called Melrose MedSpa, offers a variety of procedures including skin treatments, laser treatments, tattoo removal and body contouring.
Dr. Avunduk received her MD from MD from University of Connecticut School of Medicine, and received her medical and gastroenterology training at University of Massachusetts Medical School, according to her bio. She has served as assistant professor of medicine at University of Massachusetts Medical School and associate professor of medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine.
