Sohail Shaikh, MD, with the Center for Bariatric Endoscopy in Mont Clair, N.J., is the first gastroenterologist to perform the Intragastric Balloon procedure in the Northeastern United States.
Dr. Shaikh performed the procedure on Sept. 17. The Intragastric Balloon procedure is a non-invasive technique for weight loss.
