Docbot's artificial intelligence platform can be trained to predict levels of ulcerative colitis severity after reviewing full-length endoscopy videos, AiThority reported Nov. 6.
Researchers studied Docbot's deep learning platform to determine its accuracy in detecting UC severity levels in patients. They used colonoscopy videos from 75 sites in 14 countries to analyze the platform's effectiveness.
The paper, published in Gastroenterology, discovered the Docbot Ultivision AI platform showed "excellent machine-to-human inter-observer agreement" on the Ulcerative Colitis Endoscopic Index of Severity and the endoscopic Mayo score.
Docbot and Eli Lilly are working to further develop the platform and to detect new ways to automate the process of endoscopic disease activity scoring.
