The following gastroenterologists were recently featured in Becker's ASC Review.
1. A jury of biomedical research leaders have selected finalists for the the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health 2019 Trailblazer Prize for Clinician-Scientists, including gastroenterologist Giovanni Traverso, MB, PhD, of Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. Dr. Traverso was recognized for his work developing orally delivered medications that reside in the gastric cavity, as well an oral delivery system for such biologics as insulin.
2. Gastroenterologist Oleg Shulik, MD, has joined Mountainside Medical Group. The Glen Ridge, N.J.-based practice brought Dr. Shulik on to meet the state's growing demand for gastroenterologists.
3. Michael Weinstein, MD, president and board chairman of the Digestive Health Physicians Association, elaborated on drug pricing and explained how The Prescription Drug Pricing Act could affect gastroenterologists and patients alike in an interview with Becker's ASC Review.
4. Sumalatha Satoor, MD, has joined Baptist Health Medical Group Gastroenterology in Madisonville, Ky.
5. Simon Mathews, MD, has been appointed to the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute’s advisory panel on patient engagement.
