An increase in the number of surgeries performed in the U.S. has largely contributed to ASC market growth in the past decade, according to an Executive Insights report from L.E.K. Consulting.
L.E.K. compared the percent of total surgical cases performed in outpatient versus inpatient settings. The outpatient category includes hospital outpatient departments and ASCs.
