With two ASCs and two Medicare-certified hospitals, Coral Gables, Fla., secured the top spot on Apartment Guide's ranking of the best small cities for seniors, according to Reverse Mortgage Daily.
Boise, Idaho, was named the best big city for seniors, with eight ASCs and three hospitals certified by Medicare.
Apartment Guide compared the population sizes of 760 cities to the numbers of senior properties, hospitals with Medicare and ASCs. The data also took cost of living and average annual temperature into account when compiling the rankings. Small cities are defined as those with a population under 200,000 people.
Top five small cities:
1. Coral Gables

3. Pinellas Park, Fla.
4. Hendersonville, Tenn.
5. Blue Springs, Mo.
Top five big cities:
1. Boise
2. Glendale, Ariz.
3. Tampa, Fla.
4. Baton Rouge, La.
5. Omaha, Neb.
