MedHQ released a report last year outlining the biggest employee discipline problems at ambulatory surgery centers.
The report, titled "Solving the Top ASC Employee Discipline Problems," surveyed members of the California Ambulatory Surgery Association at the 2013 annual conference. The biggest discipline issues for staffing included:
• Attendance and tardiness: 30 percent
• Employee interactions and disputes: 28 percent
• At-work attitude: 24 percent
• Policy compliance: 9 percent
• Performance and a hostile work environment: 9 percent
The report detailed strategies to mitigate employee issues and case studies with solutions to past issues at ASCs.
