Here are six insights:

1.  Alden M. Landry, MD, and Kameron Matthews, MD, founded the nonprofit tour.

2. The tour is intended to mentor minorities who are intrigued by healthcare careers.

3. Drs. Landry and Matthews founded the nonprofit because of the connection between a lack of minority physicians and health disparities in underserved populations.

4. The tour travels nationwide twice a year, stopping at three schools to six schools weekly.

5. The physicians offer information on admission tests, financial aid, applications and existing health disparities.

6. The tour has visited more than 2,000 students in 19 states and Washington, D.C.
