How to reduce patient no-shows & increase revenue at your ASC

If ASCs spend $100 per patient on payroll, rent utilities and equipment, no-shows could cost an ASC over $26,000 a year, according to medical transport company Medbridge Transport.

Empty time slots, staffing imbalances and waiting on patients to arrive can lead to lost revenue and affect care quality.

Transportation issues account for 67 percent of patient no-shows, according to Medbridge Transport. ASCs can work with a local transport company to ensure patients make it to the center, reducing no-shows and lost revenue. By reducing no-shows, ASCs can improve patient flow.

Automated reminder systems such as text messaging, advanced scheduling systems and staff policies are things ASCs can invest in to reduce no-shows and boost revenue.
