Drug company money pours in for Hillary Clinton, despite her tough stance on pharma: 4 things to know

Senator Hillary Clinton, a Democratic party frontrunner for president, has received a large amount of campaign funds from drug companies — more than any candidate in either party, according to a report by The Hill.

Here are four things to know:

1. A Stat News report noted that Sen. Clinton accepted $164,315 in the first six months of the campaign from drug companies.

2. This is surprising given the tough stance in drug and pharmaceutical companies she has taken thus far in her campaign.

3. In September, she detailed a plan to lower drug prices by focusing on regulations governing drug companies.

4. Additionally, in the Democratic debate last week, she named drug companies as one of the enemies she is glad to have made in politics.
