Here are five things to know:

.1 Dr. Schulamn, a plastic surgeon in New York City, records about seven surgeries to eight surgeries a week, and began streaming his video clips a year ago.

3. Dr. Schulman said his demographic of the patients allowing themselves to be recorded are mostly 18 to 32 year-olds, and about 90 percent of them allow him to stream their procedures.

4. Dan Mills, president of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, said live-streaming surgery is inappropriate and unethical.

5. Snehal P. Amin, MD, a dermatologist with Manhattan Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery in New York City, said while concerns like Mr. Mills’ are valid, Dr. Amin and others are using Snapchat as an educational tool.
