The Republican candidates voiced their contrasting opinions concerning healthcare at the most recent debate, according to The Daily Cougar.
Here are five takeaways from the debate.
1. Donald Trump said he wants to implement privatized healthcare, although he will not "let people die on the streets."
2. Ben Carson, MD, said he supports a healthcare system comprised of health-empowered accounts that people can pass onto other family members following their deaths. "We give people the ability to shift money (within families)…make each family have their own insurance plan, " Dr. Carson said.
3. All of the Republican candidates vowed to repeal the Affordable Care Act if they became president.
4. Gov. John Kasich claimed he would use federal resources to cover Americans who are considered to be the working poor.
5. Governor Kasich said the healthcare industry needs to work toward price transparency to drive quality and lower costs.
