The Ambulatory Surgery Center Association released a new report on ASC administrator salary and benefits.
There were 846 participants in the study, which includes data on 20 ASC job positions. Here are five key statistics from the report:
1. Almost all — 97 percent — offer health insurance to employees. This is roughly the same percentage of ASCs that offered employee insurance in 2012. However, the percentage of ASCs offering domestic partner health insurance increased 19 percent from 2012 to 2015. Nine percent offer family health insurance.
2. There was an 18 percent increase in ASCs offering retirement benefits; in the 2015 survey, 94 percent of ASCs offer retirement benefits. Around 6 percent offer life insurance.
3. Slightly more than half — 52 percent — of ASCs offer some form of tuition support, up from 28 percent in 2012.
4. On average, benefits account for around 15 percent of the ASC's total compensation.
5. Eight percent of ASCs offer vision insurance, an increase from 2012.
