JPS Diagnostic & Surgery Hospital of Arlington (Texas) has been relicensed and reopened as an ambulatory surgery center, according to a Star-Telegram report.
The decision by JPS Health Network, the hospital's owner, to downgrade the facility licensing from a general hospital to an outpatient surgery center is expected to save the hospital's district about $1.6 million annually in operating costs.
JPS Surgical Center of Arlington will provide procedures in specialties including GI, orthopedic surgery, podiatry, general surgery and pain management. The ASC is expected to perform 50-60 procedures daily.
