Sunnyside Community Hospital continues to expand with ASC acquisition: 4 key points

Sunnyside (Wash.) Community Hospital purchased Yakima (Wash.) Ambulatory Surgical Center, according to Yakima Herald.

Here are four key points:

1. The ambulatory surgery center offers services including orthopedics, ophthalmology and neurosurgery.

2. Equipped with three operating rooms, the ASC was founded in 1997.

3. Yakima Ambulatory Surgical Center also houses one procedure room and a pre- and post-op area.

4. Sunnyside Community Hospital's Yakima Ambulatory Surgical Center purchase adds to its expanding portfolio which includes the acquisition of NOVA Health in Yakima.

"We view this as an investment in the entire Yakima Valley that will provide patients with high-level services close to home," Sunnyside CEO John Gallagher said.
