St. Louis University to Push Demolition of Pevely Dairy Complex for New Surgery Center

St. Louis University will go before the city's Planning Commission to propose to demolish the historic Pevely Dairy complex to make room for a new surgery center, according to a St. Louis Today report.

The commission voted last week to review the matter at a special meeting on Feb. 22. SLU wants to demolish the building a replace it with a $75 million building for a surgery center and physicians practice.

Because the complex is on the National Register of Historic Places, the city must approve the demolition before SLU can move forward.
