Rush University Medical Center to cut ribbon on $65M outpatient center in Chicagoland — 6 insights

Chicago-based Rush University Medical Center will dedicate and cut the ribbon on its $65 million, 100,000-square-foot medical professional building in Oak Brook, Ill., Dec. 11.

Here's what you should know:

1. The facility includes an outpatient surgery center, 65 exam rooms, physician and occupational therapy services, a laboratory and imaging services.

2. The surgery center has six operating rooms, two procedure rooms and 28 pre- and
postoperative bays. Center physicians will specialize in pain management, general surgery, ENT, musculoskeletal and gastrointestinal procedures, among others.

3. Chicago-based Midwest Orthopedics at Rush will occupy the first floor of the center, as will a sports performance center. The surgery center is on the third floor.

4. Rush plans to start seeing patients in January 2019.

5. The facility is a joint venture between Rush and Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush.

6. Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush Managing Partner Brian Cole, MD, said, "We are pleased to collaborate with Rush on this new facility and to provide a new location for our patients who live in the western suburbs."
