The Sanders Trust has purchased Roper Medical Plaza in Charleston, S.C., an area that includes medical offices, primary care and ambulatory surgery centers affiliated with Roper St. Francis Healthcare System, according to a Birmingham News report.
The building is a representative of the "hub-and-spoke" trend in medical office and hospital design, according to Sanders Trust senior vice president Steve Hewett. Many new medical office buildings offer services that were previously available only in hospitals.
"This building is a continuing evolution of what's going on in healthcare delivery," Mr. Hewett said.
