Lehigh Valley Hospital in Pennsylvania has acquired the Fairgrounds Surgical Center in Allentown, Pa., according to a The Morning Call report.
The hospital's parent company, Lehigh Valley Health Network, already owned 78 percent of the freestanding ambulatory surgery center prior to the acquisition.
The acquisition means the ASC will change from a for-profit business to a non-profit entity of Lehigh Valley Health Network.
The network is planning renovations and upgrades of the surgery center.
