NueHealth and Nueterra Capital opened in Nashville.
NueHealth is a privately-owned company connecting providers to consumers through clinically integrated provider networks and Nueterra Capital is a private equity and advisory firm investing in healthcare companies and the private equity owner of NueHealth.
"Nashville is an incredible place for both of these companies to take new root and expand their efforts for healthcare consumers and value-based quality care," said NueHealth CEO and Chairman and Nueterra Capital Chairman Dan Tasset.
Here are five things to know:
1. Nashville is the "unofficial healthcare capital" of the United Sates with a host of provider networks, physician practices, leading medical facilities and joint ventures. The city presents unique partnership opportunities for NueHealth.
2. Nueterra Capital's specific investment focus includes service companies, provider-based businesses, technology, insurance and real estate with a healthcare focus, making Nashville a prime location for business. Nueterra Capital also offers back office support services.
3. There are more than 400 individual healthcare companies in Nashville with a $40 billion economic impact. "The city is dominated by some of the brightest minds in healthcare, and I believe that by engaging the right partners here, we can elevate healthcare across the board and make it the streamlined, transparent, quality-driven machine that it should be," said Mr. Tasset.
4. Yesterday NueHealth finalized its acquisition of Blue Chip Surgical Partners, an ASC management and development company with a focus on spine centers. NueHealth added 11 Blue Chip ASCs to its network.
5. After dividing Nueterra into two companies — NueHealth and Nueterra Capital — in February, NueHealth launched an integrated network in Philadelphia: NueHealth Greater Philadelphia. The network includes more than 850 providers and aims to connect them with healthcare consumers in the region.
