On Thursday, a New York State Health Department panel voted against issuing Kaleida Health and its physician partners a certificate of need for a $2.66 million ambulatory surgery center in Orchard Park, N.Y., according to a report by The Buffalo News.
The surgery center project faced opposition from Catholic Health System, Lake Shore Health Care Center and Bertrand Chaffee Hospital.
The surgery center partners intend to appeal the panel's decision.
