Mount Sinai Medical Center opens $275M surgical, emergency centers

Miami Beach, Fla.-based Mount Sinai Medical Center opened the Skolnick Surgical Tower and Hildebrandt Emergency Center Feb. 1, RE: Miami Beach reports.

Four details:

1. The new facilities were built on Mount Sinai Medical Center's main campus for $275 million.

2. The seven-story surgical tower houses 12 operating rooms.

3. The 34,000-square-foot emergency center features 50 treatment rooms and six behavioral health rooms, with the capacity to accommodate 75,000 patients annually.

4. Both facilities are built to withstand hurricane conditions.
