Foundation Surgery Affiliates, an ambulatory surgery center management and development company, has announced it is partnering with local physicians in the opening of a multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center in Jacksonville, Fla.
The 8,000-square-foot RiverCity Surgical Institute will feature three operating rooms and seven recovery beds. Foundation and its physician partners are developing the surgery center around a bariatric center accredited through the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery's new Metabolic and Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program. They plan to add other surgical specialties in the future.

Newman, EVP & chief operating officer for Foundation Surgery Affiliates. "We anticipate RiverCity Surgical Institute will quickly become a market leader in bariatric surgery. As the surgery center grows, it will provide cutting-edge surgical services in other specialties to the benefit of the Jacksonville community and the many patients who will travel to the facility to receive the highest quality surgical care."
The facility is expected to open in the fall.
