Schenectady, N.Y.-based Ellis Hospital submitted a proposal to the New York Public Health and Health Planning Council seeking board approval for the $13.64 million Ellis Ambulatory Surgery Center in Clifton Park, N.Y.
Here's what you should know:
1. Ellis Hospital wants to construct a two-story, 40,000-square-foot ASC.
2. The surgery center will offer outpatient surgical care as well as imaging, laboratory and primary care services. The center would also have medical offices.
3. The center will have two operating rooms, with space for two additional ORs.
4. Center physicians will provide general surgery, otolaryngology, ophthalmology and plastic surgery services.
5. The proposed center is a joint venture between Ellis Hospital and Lucie Capek, MD. Ellis would retain 95 percent ownership, with Dr. Capek receiving the remaining 5 percent.
6. The Public Health and Health Planning Council is expected to recommend the project for approval Nov. 16.
