Drew Memorial Hospital has formed a relationship with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, helping the hospital recruit new physicians as DMH prepares for construction of a new surgery center, according to a My Monticello News report.
The program would establish a formal relationship between DMH and UAMS, which would benefit the hospital by adding new surgeons as the hospital prepares to add its new surgery center.
Michael Layfield, DMH administrator, said the $8 million surgery center will require the hospital to keep two general surgeons and staff other surgeons such as ENT, urology and orthopedic surgeons.
